Why you should hire a digital marketer for your business

It's the fifth week of boot camp. One more week until it's over! After all the mishaps of the previous week, were able to submit the project. You can check out our project here: twitter.com/CyrilAjnr/status/15436855682609..

Anyway, the week started with Drey dropping the task of the week. It's a similar task to week two's project and the task will solidify our digital marketing skills and portfolio. The week's task was simple: Choose a small brand and develop a Go-to-market strategy with action points, this should include other plans like SM strategy, content, and email marketing campaigns with Sendinblue or omnisend.

Easy, right? Let's dive right in.

On Monday, before our daily meeting, we broke down the project into bits. This was to be presented during the meeting. We were to make research on the following:

  • what's a Go-to-market strategy, and how to develop one
  • What are action points and how to include them in the Go-to-market strategy
  • How to use Sendinblue & Omnisend for email marketing Everyone was expected to make the research and contribute during the 9 pm meeting. At 9 pm, we had a meeting and talked about what to do. Choosing a small brand, however, proved to be a challenge as we had different brands in mind. We concluded that everyone was to carry out research on a small brand and drop their findings on the group the next day.

Tuesday rolled in with different people dropping their research on different brands in the group. Making a decision was going to be stressful. During the 9 pm meeting, we decided to create a poll containing one fintech brand, one food brand, and one automobile brand. The Fintech brand won the poll and we decided to work on it as it had a lot of potential. Decision made! Retala was the lucky brand of the week☺ Retala is a Point-Of-Sales platform for small business owners which would allow their payment and stock-taking to run efficiently. We also agreed to distribute the tasks amongst ourselves to make the work easier. Hello Guys, Good morning. This is the task for the week.

Benson & Promise - Go-to-market strategy

Favour & Cyril - Social Media strategy

Eunice & @ Zaynab - Email Marketing campaign

Chazzy & @ Stella - Create content Work started in earnest and we looked forward to results the next day.

Wednesday, Benson and Promise gave the marketing strategy for Retala that was aimed at introducing the product to the market. The key components of the go-to-market strategy include the proposition, customer pain points, competitive analysis, pricing strategy, and means of reaching out to customers. It was very comprehensive and we did not fail to appreciate them for a job well-done.

Thursday, Cyril and Favour gave us the content calenders containing the content we'd be giving out as well as the timeline of the projects. It was also well received and the people working on the content and newsletters began work in earnest.

On Sunday, Eunice dropped the newsletters for the brand made up of introductory newsletters and emails to increase brand awareness. Chazzy and Stella also submitted the content that would be posted on various social media platforms.

Overall, it's been a great week. We are surely looking forward to the end of the boot camp.
