Google Ads, Facebook Ads and Digital marketing

The relevance of ads in a business, start-up, or well-established company, cannot be overemphasized. Companies now draw in clients from all over the world using targeted Google ads and Facebook ads. Learning about the functionalities of Facebook and Google Ads was what Week six' project was all about.

The final week of the boot camp dawned on us with what would become one of the most interesting projects of the boot camp.

Project: Create an ad campaign structure on Facebook and Google for the launch of a startup in the following industries:

Health industry Fintech industry Education sector Food Industry Sports Industry

The startup has total marketing spend of N1,000,000 And is trying to reach 50k users in West Africa

This was going to be interesting, yet challenging!

The week started with big energy from the members of the group. We were ready to take the bull by the horn! The first challenge posed as an understanding challenge. We had gotten the project but we had a few questions

  1. The time duration for the ads
  2. Were we going to launch the ad or just create it?
  3. What start-up were we going to work with? Which niche would we pick? These were the burning questions, amongst others. During our daily meeting on Monday, we thrashed out this question and decided to create a poll to decide on the niche of popular choice to pick. Also, to make sure everyone participates, our team lead- Cyril- gave a wonderful suggestion. "We have two tasks for this week's project, to create an ad campaign on both "Facebook" and "Google"

So to make sure everyone participates and learns from the project, the team will be divided into two groups of 4 persons each. The maximum number of persons in a group is 4."

This suggestion sat well with us and we went ahead to pick a niche and an ad campaign to work on.

The next day, our able team lead, Cyril, gave another suggestion that we bought into. In the previous weeks, we created a blog, added content to the blog, and fully optimized the page for organic reach. For ownership of our project and flexibility, we decided to work on the blog, foodslot-5.blogspot.com, and create Facebook and google ads for it.

Brilliant! Now, let's get started.

On Friday, we had a live Facebook creation call from 9 pm, headed by Promise who was creating the ad. The Facebook page for the blog was already set up, facebook.com/FoodSlot5-104620322326708, so all we had to do was to create targeted ads for the page. During the meeting, we set up the ad campaign, added all the details to make sure the ad converted, and set up the budget. It was a very practical exposure to creating Facebook ads and we all learned from it. The meeting ended at 11 pm and we agreed to create the google ads on another day.
